Academy of American Poets, Community of Literary Magazines & Presses, and National Book Foundation Join Forces to Provide $ Million in Emergency Funds for Literary Organizations and Publishers J (New York, NY)— Three national nonprofit literary arts organizations—the. Poetry captures what's so often ungraspable, articulates what's so often inarticulable, makes sense of the seemingly nonsensical. We are linked soul to soul by stanzas and verse. To celebrate National Poetry Month, we asked some of our favorite poets to tells us which poetry collections, old or new, that they're loving right now. Yet few of the above poets have self-published a book. And neither have the vast majority of their poet colleagues. Some of these poets have hundreds of thousands of followers (some have a multi-million following). They are clearly well placed to be as successful in publishing books as they have been in publishing posts. Poets & Writers Live is an initiative developed in response to interviews and discussions with writers from all over the country. When we asked what Poets & Writers could do to support their writing practice, time and again writers expressed a desire for a more tangible connection to other writers.
